Comunity Works, is the parent company of a Social Enterprise Group established in 2009 to benefit communities in Essex. This is a parallel operation to CGC Chelmsford established to give prominence and organisational cohesion to a range of existing community initiatives (see the About tab for more detail) whilst also providing a twenty first century company equipped to deliver on a number of existing and future community needs. The organisation networks and works enthusiastically with a wide range of partners across Essex.
As an independent 'not for profit' organisation, Community Works has a vision and a 'real passion' to identify, explore and then innovate ways to deliver on desired local community programmes irrespective of gender and orientation, age, mobility, religion or ethnicity in the areas of:
- healthy recreation
- provision of recreational facilities for the young, mature, infirm, disabled and the socially or financially disadvantaged
- learning (lifelong, so from cradle to nursing home)
- skill needs in life and the workplace
- relief of hardship, sickness and poor health
- employment
- general recreation and social well being
- activities leading to increased personal or community 'growth and life'
