Community Works is an exciting Social Enterprise established in 2009 to benefit communities across Chelmsford and Essex. This parallel operation to CGC Chelmsford has been established to give prominence and organisational cohesion to a range of existing community initiatives (see the About tab for more detail) and provide a twenty first century company equipped to deliver on these and future community needs.

As a 'not for profit' organisation, Community Works has a vision, stop, it's not just a vision 'but a real passion' to identify, explore and then innovate ways to deliver on desired local community programmes irrespective of gender, age, mobility, religion or ethnicity in the areas of:

• healthy recreation
• provision of recreational facilities for the young, mature, infirm, disabled and the socially or financially disadvantaged
• learning (lifelong, so from cradle to nursing home)
• skill needs in life and the workplace
• relief of hardship, sickness and poor health
• employment
• general recreation and social well being
• activities leading to increased personal or community 'growth and life'
